Ajai Singh Khalsa

Ajai Singh is a bankruptcy and debtor's attorney who focus his practice on assisting individual and small business debtors with bankruptcy and debt workout related issues. He has practiced law for the past ten years focusing in general, commercial and intellectual property litigation practices -- and bankruptcy. An avid bicyclist, he has also represented cyclists who have been injured in accidents.
In light of recent developments in the economy and financial markets, Ajai Singh started the Khalsa Law Office with the mission of serving individual and small business clients in bankruptcy and other debt related legal issues. He also continues to provides legal advice, counseling and services to numerous small business, including helping those businesses choose and set up appropriate business structures under Minnesota law.
Ajai Singh began practicing law after serving nearly 10 years in the United States Army. Joining the Army after high school and serving as a military policeman and a signals intelligence analyst, he served at a variety of postings in the U.S. and Europe, including the Third Armored Division in Germany and a national level intelligence agency.
After being honorably discharged from the Army, Ajai Singh attended Macalester College in St. Paul and law school at the University of Minnesota. During law school Ajai Singh began his work with debtors as a member of the law school bankruptcy clinic, learning the ropes of bankruptcy law and and value of serving debtors in bankruptcy from the late William Kampf.
After graduation from law school, Ajai Singh clerked for Justices Paul H. Anderson and James H. Gilbert of the Minnesota Supreme Court. He then joined Flynn, Gaskins & Bennett, practicing in commercial, insurance and general litigation. He later moved to Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi in Minneapolis, practicing in Robins' highly regarded Intellectual Property Litigation Department. In 2004, Ajai Singh returned to Peterson, Fishman, Livgard & Capistrant's successor firm, Livgard & Rabuse, P.L.L.P. (now Livgard & Lloyd, pllp) and returned the focus of his practice to bankruptcy law.
Ajai Singh follows the Sikh Dharma and is a member of the Sikh Society of Minnesota and is also an IKYTA Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor and practices Sat Nam Rasayan, a related healing art.
Ajai lives in Northeast Minneapolis with his wife, Patty and daughter, Rowan.
